Happy TACO TUESDAY! This is what you call a TACO!
Porque No?
is located on in Oakland. This is their SUPER TACO. Miguel and I wanted to have a little Sunday-funday earlier this week and was hungry for some tacos because why not? Hence the name of the business.
When you get to the location, you'll actually find to see that they share a space with Halftime Sports Bar.
We were greeted by the owner of Porque No?. He was kind and eager to tell us what they had on their menu. He even asked how we found out about their business. Lake Merritt is about a 20 minute drive from our place, so we searched up what places were around the area to eat. Porque No? popped up on Yelp. He was dope person to chat with. We ordered the carne asada and pastor super tacos. Each super taco is $5, but they have regular street tacos too for $3.
Outdoor seating is pretty limited. They had two sets of high tables and chairs out. We waited about 20 minutes for our food. He continued to check in on us and let us know that the food will be out soon. There was another couple dining and he was also very engaging with them. Got a few sodas (tell them @HellaFuego sent you) lol and we were on our way to the lake.
Once we got situated, we opened up our box and saw this great, beautiful, I can't even find the words right now to describe how much the taco hit the spot, but the pictures speaks for themselves. Fresh pico de gallo, carne asada , stuffed on a well-crisp tortilla, topped with sour cream and guac. *chef's kiss*
If it wasn't for COVID, I'd definitely be getting a couple drinks and tacos from there!
